Mary Ellen Merrigan has always been inspired to excellence. Small wonder. As the oldest of seven, she’s been in a position of leadership for most of her life.
Throughout her career, Mary Ellen has added to her own experiences creating a foundation of interactions from which she draws today. For one thing, Mary Ellen knows how it is to build an entire support system from the ground up; she’s done it five times in five different states. Early on she discovered the wisdom of basics: establish credibility by doing what you say you will do. Sound simple? It is.
From day one, she has concentrated on delivering the basics in an excellent fashion. In the competitive radio industry, for example, she focused on advertiser results and how to get them, rather than on ratings. As a consultant/trainer in the non-profit world, she wrote and presented materials that saved small business owners time and money. One client writes that Mary Ellen’s mantra is to under-promise, over-deliver.
Today Mary Ellen uses these basic examples to create loyalty programs that help firms communicate with their customers. Her analysis and recommendations are centered in realism and practicality and customized for each client.
An avid learner, she continues to be an active member of the American Society for Training and Development (ASTD); she holds a certification from ASTD in e-learning. She recently completed certification in Beyond Bullet Points: Power Point for Learning.
Her work in the community includes serving on the Board of the Albuquerque Independent Business Alliance and the Albuquerque Chapter of Business and Professional Women.
Mary Ellen is passionate about needlepoint and self-improvement. She and her husband live in Albuquerque and enjoy traveling throughout the world.
